black heart blooming brooch

Make bad-ass jewelry with
Stephanie Sersich & Michele Goldstein
in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!
March 22-28, 2009
cost $1500

Michele and Stephanie have been making jewelry together for the last year, calling their collaborative undertaking Hearts and Bones Studio (heartsandbonesstudio.com). Using an array of techniques – lampwork, wirework, knotting, knitting and stringing, (even Shrinky-Dinks) - their pieces are fresh and bold. Both artists love to teach and are excited to unveil their new workshop, highlighting their most-loved techniques used in their collaborative and individual bodies of work.
Students will create many unique things in this workshop, including rings and earrings with Lucite and glass components, a painted frame of beads and buttons like Michele’s, a bracelet using Stephanie’s signature Spiny Knotting technique and a knitted and strung necklace of talismanic charms.
Join them at stunning Hacienda Mosaico, an artist retreat in Puerto Vallarta. The setting is ideal, with inspiring tropical plants, mosaic walkways and delicious, fresh food prepared by the resident chef. The workshop takes place five days, but it will be at a very relaxed pace (so that it can serve as your vacation as well!) Two afternoons, participants are free to explore the city – shop, eat, walk on the beach, etc. (Stephanie will lead a trip to her favorite store of Dias De Los Muertos fiqures!)
Included in the workshop fee is your lodging (double occupancy) and breakfast and lunch each day, as well as some of the basic materials for the workshop –

Class space is limited to 14 splendid humans. If you are interested in joining us for this special week please email steph or meesh so we can reserve a space for you.
